My Name is Lee Richmond, I'm a freelance web application developer from Leeds, West Yorkshire.
I started out roughly 8 years ago, learning basic HTML to use on a small project to help promote the band I was playing in at the time. I quickly found myself wanting to learn more and more and soon started learning CSS and JavaScript. As time went on I moved away from simply building good looking websites, and started looking at what I could do to make them more functional, this led to me starting to learn PHP and MySQL and from there my thirst for knowledge and passion for application development took hold.
In the last couple of years I have started working mainly with Ruby on Rails, I get a great deal of enjoyment out of it and love the community spirit that surrounds Rails, as a result of learning Ruby I have gone on to work on some amazing projects both small and large, from Community websites for charitable organisations, to Ecommerce websites and many many more applications in between.
Petrol Head
I have been a massive fan of cars for as long as I can remember, and one of the things I love to do in my spare time is work on my car, I'm currently the proud owner of a 1992 Toyota MR2 2.0 import, which I think reflects my love for Japanese sports cars pretty well, however I have been known to go weak at the knees when ever I see a well looked after old school muscle car.
Comic Geek
Comic books have been something I have enjoyed ever since I was a child, the artwork, the storyline's, I started out reading the X-Men comics and very much like my constant quest for web development knowledge, my love for comics grew, often if I'm stuck for a working title for a web application I will use the name of a comic book character ( Jubilee is a prime example of this.)
Extreme sports fan
Although it looks like my time is either spent in front of a computer screen, in the engine bay of my car, or between the pages of a comic book, this isn't so, I also love to watch and take part in various sports activities, from basketball, and swimming, through to skateboarding, and snowboarding, I will give anything a try at least once and if I like it enough I may even go back and do it again.
At Home
Welcome to MTV Cribs.... no not really, I live in Bramley, Leeds with my partner Danielle, the house we live in is amazing and we feel so proud that we are here, (even if we do keep bugging the landlord to get things fixed from time to time).
